The Planet of the Apes is one of my personal favorite movies of all time, and when I say The Planet of the Apes, I mean the classic movie and not the 2001 remake, which wasn’t really bad, but as always nothing beats a classic.
One of the most amazing scenes in the history of cinema I think is the moment the astronaut realized that the planet he’s on is not as far away from home as he imagined, the moment they showed the destroyed and decayed statue of liberty gave the audience a shock that they will talk about for many years to come.
And even though most of us had a clearer picture and of course with the help of the 2001 remake that there was a reason behind the evolution of the Apes which made them dominate the planet Earth, but until now we didn’t get the full picture on how that actually happened, but not for long.
On August 5th, 2011, Rise of the Planet of the Apes will take you to the very beginning, where the whole thing started, when the “Adam” of the Apes was created.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes in theaters: August 5th, 2011
