So basically now i know the next laptop for my dad is going to be a tablet, a tablet and he can have his mouse and keyboard attached whenever he wants, even samsung realized that hybrid tablets will have a market, and are offering a docking station for the galaxy.
The $50 full keybard that can be fitted on the galaxy tab does not have an extra battery, lacks a touch pad (or other mouse alternative) and is simply a keyboard, you will still have to touch the screen
the included honeycomb applications will sometimes detect the keyboard and stop displaying the virtual keyboard, and sometimes not, depending on the application (QuickOffice detects, Documents To Go does not detect).
Also, there are 2 jacks on the keyboard, 1 is a normal audio jack that you can use for your headphones or speakers, and the other is the samsung galaxy jack that the keyboard is using on the tab so you can use your tablet with other perepherals even when the keyboard is attached
So generally speaking, i can see where the tablet world is going, it will be trying to replace laptops for the thin client soon, Intel has probably seen this coming and tried to downscale the 8086 with there atom processor, but still, it seems the tigra and it’s arm architecture is winning
