Internet Addiction Can Change Your Brain Exactly like Drugs & Alcohol….

I don't know who that person is, but the picture is awesome... sorry GUY..

Internet Addiction, it started as a word, no meaning, just a way to describe someone’s unnatural attachment to the Internet, but now my friends, it’s a real thing, it is an addiction just like Drugs and Alcohol addiction…

Apparently some experts in China led by Hao Lei of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Wuhan tested 35 young individuals who are suffering from Internet Addiction, and the results of the tests showed that these people have disruption in the way their brains were connected exactly like people suffering from Alcohol and Drugs addictions… The thing that really shocked me is that there are people around the world (other than me) trying to stop using the internet (uncontrollably), to put this into other words, they are using (INTERNET-DETOX) techniques, which means that they really are addicted and can’t stop using the internet uncontrollably until they follow some steps and get professional help.

Ok, before I continue, I need to share something about this new addiction thing… After the Arab Spring, I started visiting news websites in a weird way, I started noticing my weird pattern and apparently addiction when I viewed my browsing history a few weeks ago, I was shocked on how many news websites i visited, many of them are not even in English, the way I visited those sites was crazy, from the history i could see that I opened a site related to my work, a few minutes later, a news website, and I spend a minimum of 10 minutes on that site, then I go back to work, a few minutes later, another news website, and I spend even more time on that, then I go back to work for a few minutes, then I open facebook, no, not to enjoy some funny stuff, but to look for more news, more events, more protests, I was so hungry for news that I wasted most of the day searching for stuff, and how did that end?? I almost lost myself, I’m not kidding, I became nervous most of the day, I became so angry and confused, the world as I know it is about to collapse, that’s what you get from these sites, that’s what you get from facebook and twitter, then a friend of mine talked to me, and he explained to me that what I’m doing is some kind of an addiction, and that it’s ruining my life, the way I see things, that life isn’t only black and white, and no matter what happens, next day, the sun will rise and people will move on, and life will be normal again… I don’t know if that’s the kind of addiction Scientists are talking about, but I can assure you, I’ve been News-Websites clean for almost two weeks, and my life is back to normal….

So let’s get back to this amazing study…Commenting on the Chinese study, Dr Henrietta Bowden-Jones, consultant psychiatrist and honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College London, said the research was “groundbreaking”.  She added: “We are finally being told what clinicians suspected for some time now, that white matter abnormalities in the orbito-frontal cortex and other truly significant brain areas are present not only in addictions where substances are involved but also in behavioural ones such as internet addiction.”

So basically, we’re in big trouble if we don’t do anything about this addiction, and I really hope that people would use the internet as a source of knowledge and not a source of feeding a hunger that can’t be stopped or fed…
