Google go linux

Android and Chrom OS (Chromium OS project) are the 2 operating systems by google, Both running a linux kernel, But Android seems to focus on Mobile phones and Tablets such as the MOTO XOOM, while the other focuses on …. Netbooks NoteBooks ? yes, NoteBooks are Laptops (forget the outdated criterias)

So, the idea is simple, Google chrome has to be installed by manufacturers, there is no reference hardware architecture that it can run on like the one that exists for Windows, Linux and Unix.

Android as well is meant to be installed by manufacturers, and even version upgrades do not work on all hardware.

So, google has two operating systems that seem to be working on differetn hardware, Some for INTEL’s architecture, and the other for ARM (Debian has a version for each too !).

In any case, A couple of days ago, google announced that

Chrome OS is Google’s lightweight, Linux-based operating system designed to run all its software via the web. Google also says that the OS originally for netbooks may start with nOtebooks not netbooks because the netbook market is being lost to tablets (Which Android is a key player) but even more, they say it is going to be available for the smaller screens, in direct competition with it’s younger brother (Who is also older in terms of time and apps) the Android.
